I think there are actually different Russian words for lies that are *real* lies and lies that are told because they suit you even though everyone knows you are lying.

Stop being silly, Peter. There are degrees, you know.

While there may be a common theme, the idea of a British politician lying the way Russia has done about something as significant as the Salisbury poisonings is inconceivable. If for no other reason than our press would not allow it.

Or would you think RT and the BBC is a fair comparison?

Yeah, and none of those politicians were ever held to account over the Iraq War or Hillsborough etc etc

Right..... so as long as the (partial) truth comes out about 30 years later it doesnt count as lying?

Admirable shifting of the goalposts there.

Just for the record, no politician has been held to account over the Belgrano, Hillsborough, or Orgreave.

The only attempted prosecution over the belgrano incident was of a civil servant who leaked a document about it.

Speaking of shifting the goalposts - in terms of audacity and lack of accountability from their local media, you are comparing the way that Russia has lied about Salisbury with the lies told about Hillsborough or Belgrano, as two examples?

Really? You honestly see those as equivalent?
