    Understand that it will feel tough. If it doesn't then you're not pushing yourself hard enough. Equally, don't overdo it (start slowly and build up until you feel you are pushing yourself).

    A lot of it is a psychological battle. Just don't give up.

    Sod all that f. Get yourself one of these. Two walks a day, around 7 to 10 miles and all the love and loyalty you could ask for on four legs.
    They don't nag either.
