Well I suppose I am going to Coventry on Friday, so it's a fair cop.

Yes. Literally the only good things I have to say about the Swiss are in the area of melted cheese.

Nice landscape, or so I'm led to believe, and seeing as you mention it the Helvetians do have a lovely line in design and typography.

    eg.

Pffft. It's no Gill Sans. Mind you, he did used to **** everyone in his family - including his dog - and then write about it in excruciating detail.

Still, better than being Swiss, though.

I booked the place you recommended. Going to go up in the afternoon, check in, change, get a cab to the Ricoh and enjoy a good meal in the brasserie.

One assumes there is a good quality brasserie at the Ricoh?

Lovely 'g' on the Gill Sans, the rest of it I'm not to sure about.

I guess you could say it's nothing but a G thang

Ummmmmmm, there's the hotel bar which definitely serves food of some sort. I think there's a restaurant upstairs - or failing that there's one in the casino. They're all basically awful, though.
On the plus side, there's a statue of Jimmy Hill outside.

Give my regards to the Nailcote. They were always rather nice there - for Midland types. And I've got very, very drunk in that little bar many times.
