Film reviews - Room and Spotlight

Room - quite good despite the rather grim premise. Child actor not as annoying as they usually are. Those around me who aren't dead inside tell me they found it very moving, even going so far as to leak from the eyes.

Spotlight - Also good, but Mark Ruffalo's incredibly mannered acting style gets on my tits. However, if you can overlook that, it's a good, solid newspaper story. Like 'All The President's Men', but with noncey priests.

I read the Room novel. Must be very tough shooting that with a real child.

I watched Joy. Quite good performance from Jennifer Lawrence, found the story a bit

**** though. If that were my family i'd have f**ked them out the window long ago. I spent most of the film annoyed she let them take advantage of her, and then also remembered how much i hate those mops.

I quite liked that, but without Jennifer Lawrence's performance, it would barely have been a film at

all. De Niro should f**k off and stop trying to act.

This weekend I very much enjoyed Birdman.

Apart from the two hour drum solo.

Speaking of that sort of thing, this chap's lawyer might need to work a bit harder on his defence.

    Quote:
“My client desperately wanted a life partner,” the man’s lawyer, Mari Schaub, told reporters on Monday. “He is a very unhappy man. He has no girlfriend. … This is no sexual sadist we are dealing with. He is an ordinary man of flesh and blood.”

...is not a good reason for kidnapping a woman and trying to keep her as a sex slave.

    Gosh. Probably best avoided then.

Indeed. The talk of drumming ended any possible interest for me.
