watch. There was that boring slave nonsense and the space crap last year, Daniel Day-Lewis being dull the year before that (and don't get me started on Les Miserables) and a f**king silent film the year before that! This year, you've got Spaz Chariots of Fire or whatever it's called with thon ginger fella, some worthy bore-fest about Martin Luther King that doesn't have any of his speeches in it and something about a bint with early-onset Alzheimer's. Plus, of course, Birdman (which looks unbelievably pretentious and dull) and a film about that synonym for dullness, jazz drumming, ffs!

Essentially, if a film is likely to win awards these days, it generally seems to mean I have little or no interest in seeing it.

You told me Boyhood was ****. Then it won Best Film.

I'm not trusting your critical judgement any more. You're an artistic philistine.

    It is ****. I can't believe I left out that f**king tedious gimmicky ****.

I really wanted to punch that little c**t by the end of the film.

I watched 'Under the Skin' yesterday. It was a masterful take on feminine subjectivity and the

assymetrical nature of sexual relationships. It was arguably the best flick I've seen over the past twelve months, and I was assured to find that it had received a lowly 6.3 rating from IMDB unwashed masses. That undoubtedly confirms that it was indeed brilliant and that I am indeed brilliant.

Gone Girl was good. I like Ben Afleck. He gives great jaw.

Maps to the Stars was f**king rubbish.
