So this whole "moving out of London" thing: sell it to me.

You might need to be a little more specific.

New York City? Dagenham? A crofter's cottage on the Orkneys? There's quite a lot of world that isn't London.

Hour's commute from London (preferably Kings Cross)

Viewing a poky flat in Hampstead Garden Suburb on Saturday with a shared garden. Can you imagine sharing a garden with the kind of c**ts that live in Hampstead Garden Suburbs?

The prospect alone has convinced me we need to move out.

"Hampstead Garden Suburb" code for East Finchley imo

Ha! Man, I was just going to say that

    perhaps.

    Cambridge?

Good call. East Anglian big skies, also Clound Nine

My sister lives up that way. The fens is possibly the most boring landscape known to man.

I used to have to go there for work every now and then... the traffic was horrendous

and that was 7 or 8 years ago. I can't imagine it got any better

I was delighted to move out of London in my late 20s because I love countryside.

If I could I'd move right to the middle of no where. But you may not be such a nature enthusiast.

On the other hand, sometimes I think slightly smaller towns are actually better than London; more manageable. Somewhere like Oxford, which has a theatre and cinemas and restaurants, but on a manageable scale, might be the answer.
