Contractually, what happens when a player submits a transfer request, Can a club reject it

What are the implications for the player then ?

  2. #2

    Yes, they can reject it

all it means is that the player foregoes any loyalty bonus if he is sold.

  3. #3

He has to rot on the reserve bench or something.

  4. #4

Can he demand the club accept bids by potential suitors,

Does handing in a request cut down any of conflicting points between the club and the player..

  5. #5

Not unless your name is Cesc.

And you have a very understanding manager.

  6. #6

He can demand things that are in the contract

Nothing else. If he has a release clause then that can be activated but he doesnt need to demand it.

I think normally the only contractual status that the request has is a financial penalty for the player if he then leaves. Which is why players tend not to hand them in these days. No sign of a request from van persie, cesc or nasri but all were engineering their move for some time.

You don't need to hand one in when you have 1 year left on your deal.

To all intents your actions have already done it.

Unless you are Theo of course who is just a nice boy and never wanted to leave.

You dont have to at any stage. Agents do the touting around or, like suarez, you just

Openly say you want to leave.

I believe the key to arteta signing for us was his last minute request, surrendering bonuses from everton. Made the deal stack up financially.
