    I believe our U17 squad is rather fancied to bring through a few decent players

    U20's is a bit of a nonsense, imo. If you're not in the U21 set up by that point you're probably not going to make it at a top club

    It's not just us anyway. I understand there's a whole team of youngsters from around the Premier

    League who could've gone but didn't, for one reason or another. You'd think England would have had half a chance if we'd been able to call on this little lot*:

    1. Jack Butland (Stoke City)

    2. Kyle Walker (Tottenham)

    3. Luke Shaw (Southampton)

    4. Jack Rodwell (Man City)

    5. Phil Jones (Man Utd)

    6. Steven Caulker (Tottenham)

    7. Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

    8. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

    9. Danny Welbeck (Man Utd)

    10. Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

    11. Wilfried Zaha (Man Utd)

    In fairness, I guess we'd have to see how it works for Premier League youngsters

    who play for other countries too. I can't imagine any manager having different rules for different players.
