He actually said that the difference to today in racism is simply that it is now 'covert instead of overt', as if the savage racism of the seventies is in anyway comparable to a time when racist abuse gets fans on the front of tabloids
Anyway, as well as being a great player, Cunningham also came across as a very decent guy. One thing I found depressing, though , was that his son doesn't speak English.
