I did that earlier in the year when the heating wouldn't come on either, so that's a new skill I've learnt :-) I think as Pj says, it must be a diverter valve.

That's what I think it is....how much was it to fix?

Any ideas why my heating is working but can't get any hot water? It's a combi boiler.
