The problem being that basing the only significant division between your two main political parties on whether or not their founders supported a Treaty signed nearly a century ago means there is no meaningful difference in terms of belief or politcal programmes and it's just arbitrarily tribal. You might as well base your political parties on the Swiftian thing of which end of a boiled egg they open first.
