I agree.

Though given we still had the slave trade at the time of the Macartney mission, I don't think we can lecture about racism. But it wasn't the racism that was the problem, it was the economics. They'd sell us tea, etc, but not buy anything from us. They talk about a century of humiliation yet had they listened to us in the 1790s, their economic dominance would have arrived 2 centuries earlier.

But Nixon is an idiot. Boney said the world would tremble when they awoke. And Nixon has basically handed global economic dominance to them on a silver platter.
