There is that.. Cat?s have servants, while dogs have masters, as someone once said.
People have stampeded for dogs since covid. Many think it?s fine to now fark off to work while leaving them in the house with the radio on for hours on end. See it all the time. They?re a pack animal and people forget that element.
The flip side are those people with an almost embilical attachment who become racked with guilt when leaving them. Dogs can prevent you from doing lots of things, if you don?t have a supportive network, they really can put a significant dent in your free time. They?re basically small children who never grow up :-)
I remember when we learnt about Pavlov's dogs at school. I thought it was all complete nonsense, a load of bull. Then the bell went and we all went and had lunch...
Cats, mate.
Puddle Paws saw us doing some gardening, watched how we were doing it and then dug this huge hole exactly the right depth and width for the little bedding plant flower.
He got our attention, went as if to sheet in it, and then stepped back, to tell us it wasn't for his sheet, cos he hadn't done one and hadn't then filled it in. So we planted a flower in it for him and it's perfectly placed in front of some shrub so it makes a living box for him to lie in catoflagued.
Animals are deffo nicer.
My objection to what The Boss is currently saying at his gigs is not so much about Trump himself. In that I agree, the guy is a ****ing pig and unfit for office.
But I don't buy the idea of the USA being this shining beacon of hope, liberty and justice for 250 years, and certainly not from a man who has made a very good living in the last 50 of those years by writing about the difference between that myth and the American reality.
While he was recording Born To Run, Richard Nixon was disgracing the Office and dragging the US Presidency through its darkest hours of deceit and corruption. So I am afraid I can't agree that Trump has corrupted a great and unsullied institution.
More the latest in a long line of arrogant, self aggrandising dickheads who put themselves before the Office.
He shouldn't have walked, he wouldn't have needed a pardon but it was different times. The whole sorry business was clearly a huge embarrassment; unforgivable incompetence basically.
A president is absolutely immune from criminal prosecution for conduct within their "exclusive sphere of constitutional authority," which includes running the intelligence agencies. Their supreme court agreed with this just last year.
Only when done under the auspices of National Security and through the appropriate channels. It doesn't permit the President's re election campaign officials to hire a bunch of second rate gas meter thieves to break in and then lie about it.
Nixon committed a number of significant criminal offences. Without that pardon, he was in big trouble.
No. A president doesn't need permission, the office of president is the permission, he is the appropriate channels! As the nation's chief law enforcement officer, all law enforcement reports to him. And if anybody doesn't like it they can impeach him.
Essentially the pardon, following his resignation, was to bring an end to the national disaster and allow everyone to move on; at that point, his opponents had got their man. No need to rub it in further.
