Unlucky not to have a similar one earlier. Only an elite save stopped it.
The group stage is going the way they always do. 🤫 We’ve got two easy home games coming up and one win there and we’re pretty much through. Look at the table. There’s no drama. We’ve done the hard part. Even lost a game and are still clear at the top with piss easy games to come.
Other that hopeless defending from a corner and yet another shocking keeper performance I don’t remember them creating much. Same as Lens, the energy from their home fans only works for one of the games. They’ll be easy meat for us at home. PSV away will be tougher.
Also. We’re topping that group without the synergy we had with Xhaka. Hopefully that kicks in soon with his replacements. More importantly for the league than against these bucket teams in the group stage.
Nah - did well to cash in on him, I reckon. Picking to play for the US said a lot about him. Not pulling up many trees at Monaco either.
On September 22, he had his first start at the club, in which he missed two penalties in a 1–0 defeat against Nice. :hehe:
I'd like to see Havertz play more as a 9 though
I don't understand the narrative that Raya (or a gk generally) shouldn't be dropped just for making mistakes!!
What do they have to do to get dropped then? Ramsdale was dropped mainly on the basis of manager's preference.
Tommy was excellent last night, definite improvement on Zinny.
Jesus made me eat my words that Trossard should start central! Havertz would be a better substitution option than Eddie.
Rice was superb. Odin's been a little out of it the last two games since the international break.
Sunday will hopefully be a straightforward outing in preparation for the trip up north the following week.
