Everyone would rather we won on Saturday than went through tonight, right?
-
I think everyone would rather we won both
-
I'm going to go through your mum tonight, right? imo
-
Still very unlikely we win either competition so if i had to choose i'd flip a coin.
-
Be careful - she's a terrible one for gossip
-
Surely not
Though at best I think we'll nick a win tonight and lose on aggregate
-
Yeah but we need top four. Falling out of the Champions League as we’re trying to renegotiate
contracts with our two marquee players would not be ideal.
-
Surely Saturday is more important, given our vulnerable league position
-
No, the CL is always the most important thing.
Which is why it's so painful when we go out in the knockouts every year having invariably drawn the best team in europe, or just Monaco
-
No it’s not, in any sense other than winning it.
-
If they want to leave they'll leave whether we're in it or not. When Ozil considers his future i
imagine salary and whether he can be arsed playing with **** forwards who aren't worthy of licking his boots will have more of a sway then whether we're in the champions league.
-
Of course it is, it's the one big space on our collective mantlepiece
That and retaining a laegue.
-
#neingunnersnein?

It's like 1933,34 and 35 never happened
-
"in any sense other than winning it"
If you think we'd have a chance of winning it if we go through tonight, then presumably you also think we still have a chance of winning the league.
If we went through tonight, which competition do you think we'd have a better chance of winning?
-
And signing new marquee players? You don't think not being in the CL will have any effect?
-
-
Assuming we could only have the one win, then yes, for a change, I agree with you. But
would not surprise me one bit if we lost both.
You might get your interview then!!
-
Well it didn't really stop Utd, so that tells me if the money is right it doesn't matter. We'll see
Chelsea and Utd sign very good players this summer, and neither of them will be in the Champions League next season.
-
Laegue not leagues
![hehe](images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif)
C'mon LA, we cant be harking back to the 30s or our transformation into spurs would truly be complete
-
-
If we won tonight we'd have a better chance of winning the CL
I think it's fair to say I dont fancy our league chances
-
-
We're definitely going through tonight. Saturday can look out for itself.
We'll be back in the Champions League next season as holders.
Whatever happened to the Champions League's apostrophe?
-
-
That bothers me, too. I always put it in anyway. f**king dipshit Europeans.
-
Which "marquee" players did Man Uyd sign?
The ageining German who's been an unmitigated flop?
Hardly the same as signing an Ozil or Sanchez approaching their prime years.
And anyway, Man Utd are still a bigger draw than us because of their name.
-
Oh
![hehe](images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif)
you really add something to the debate
-
I think they quietly dropped it when you no longer needed to be a champion
-
Saturday
![Nod](images/smiley_icons/nod.gif)
but that is only because I am going
-
With at least two far superior teams than us still in it? Yet you discount
the chance of scrambling a bunch of wins in the league and the mighty Leicester and Spurs faltering?
Blimey.
-
Di Maria and Falcao? And we don't only need marquee signings to make us better. There's plenty of
players who are not at Real/Barca who can improve the team and wouldn't give two ****s if we were in the champions league or not. They'd probably be getting two or three times as much in wages and would be playing for one of the biggest clubs in europe.
-
We'd need plenty of luck to win the CL, of course
We'd need more miracles than the Vatican to win the league with an eleven point deficit with nine games to go though.
-

Persactly
-
Actions speak louder than words
-
And Schweinsteiger was signed in a year they qualified for the CL
-
Yeah, they dont though really, do they?
-
Oh, what a bizarre question.
Given we are highly unlikely at this point to win either then one could argue the accumulation of domestic points is of paramount importance, however continued involvement in Europe would keep that dream going, for those that dream that dream.
