I wonder how many times the average cretinous Arsenal fan has changed their mind about Wenger over
the past 12 months?
There were certainly many around the time of the Stoke away defea last season who wanted him out, but I’m fairly sure by the time we’d won the Cup again a large number of these would have flipped.
Then this season, after the ****e start t the season and only buying Cech. the numbers would certainly have swelled again, but how many people do you think now would want him out?
It must be quite some emotional rollercoaster being a cretinous cancer-deserving c**t.
-
There should be some sort of national register for the Wenger Outers so we can ban them from
getting any pleasure from Wenger related victories
-
I imagine it must be confusing for them. Of course, their vindicating theory last season was
that Wenger "finally listened to the fans" by spending some fackin' money.
But after a summer in which, much to their annoyance, he only signed Cech, that theory is no longer available.
Tricky one.
-
Some of them pointed out that we lost in the league cup because we have such a threadbare squad
as if Higuain would have been happy to sit on the bench all season, just to play Sheff Wed
Besides, when he did rest some first teamers and played a WC player (Ospina), he got criticised for that too
-
Wow football fans being sometimes upset with their team/manager shocker!
Incidentally it is only the 02nd of November.
-
Well done for identifying the obvious factors for career continuity
No one questions your ability when you keep producing consistent results. :homer:
-
It's more their ability to only see the here and now. Do you think it might be best to look at what
he achieves on a year by year basis? You'll find that, if you do, you are rarely disappointed.
-
We are more competitive on the pitch with our top 4 rivals. I am happy with that.
FA cups I am happy with those too.
I wish for one day to see us win the league again.
We have some wonderful footballers in the team. Best in years. They deserve good things. And so does Wenger.
-
Good man
It has been a while since you rolled out this tedious *******s, especially the last line.
-
Yes. Wenger out!/AKB are all a bunch of c**ts and as tedious as each other.
-
What I like is. When Arsenal do lose. AKB have no opinion on it at all.
Just silence.
It's exactly the same thing as the Wenger Out's
-
Yes, well you would say that, wouldn’t you. How many times have you changed your mind in the last
-
Anyway what's the point of being all smug because you didn't ever criticise a manager?
It may work if Arsenal win the treble.
-
Neither can vindicate their position
In a period of twenty years at the helm, there will inevitably be good times and bad, regardless of who's in charge.
-
I have absolutely no idea if Arsene Knows Best. It may well be that another manager may have won
more thanhim over the past ten years. It’s impossible for any of us to know.
But on balance, I think the argument for keeping him has been strong enough to pretty much be a no-brainer.
It would be like getting rid of a perfectly good wife who makes you happy and with whom you may very well have a wonderful future together, *just incase* there’s a better one out there.
-
It's the immunity of criticism from certain Arsenal fans that I can't stand. Why are people not
allowed to speak their mind. Everybody else does.
Of course some people go overboard but it's silly.
-
I dont know about that, in my experience they do tend to be a little more even handed
-
Criticism is one thing. It's the viciousness of the villification which offends me.
To describe an honourable gentleman who has given the institution in which we share an interest years of success, loyalty and self-sacrifice as a 'senile French c**t' displays a depth of nastiness and ignorance which allows me to dismiss these people as lower than filth.
I admit it. It's a class thing. Common people are vile :-(
-
Can't we all just be 'gooners at the end of the day ' ?
-
Er, let me think
None. I've always maintained a position of change.
Twenty years is too much for any manager in the world of professional football.
We'll always be competing for top 4, nothing will change as the financial conditions now in place around the club mean that a chimp could probably manage at least top 6
-
The problem is that, invariably, the fans who criticise him and decide he’s wrong do not perform the
due diligence required.
It is absolutely logical and reasonable to always start from a position that Wenger is right, and to consider every factor that may have dictated his decision, before deciding he is wrong.
As a devout defender of Wenger, I found myself doing this over his decision to play Ospina in the CL. I considered every factor that could have influenced his decision and, on balance, decided he was wrong
Can you honestly say the fans who tend to always criticise him *ever* do this with rigour?
-
I agree, with the first part at least
I do wonder how many truly 'common people' can afford to be an STH at our place though.
-
AKB or at least more than any of the alternatives
A couple of occasions I've thought perhaps it's time for him to go and then completely goes and redeems himself......or I've just thought about the possible alternatives
Better the devil you know, grass isn't always greener, etc, etc
-
Good God no! Have you seen some of these people?
They're repellent. Taxi drivers, forklift truck drivers, labourers, that sort of thing.
-
Nope, you changed your mind and wanted him to stay after the cup final
and said exactly that.
Now you want him out again. So that's twice. Anymore u-turns you'd care to admit to?
-
:classicMonty:
-
Credit/crime/ their Islington parents bought their council flats and have been inherited by the kids
who in turn sold them for fortunes and moved to pastures news such as Hertfordshire and Enfield.
-
Tell me these people aren't common.
-
You surely don't imagine that being able to shell out a grand or so a season precludes you
being common, do you? I would refer you to everyone who has ever appeared on Arsenal Fan TV or whatever it's called. All season ticket holders. All common as muck.
-
Well yes, exactly, it doesnt really stack up, does it?
-
I was just looking forward to the game on Wednesday
I then I remembered what the city will be like tomorrow night and Wednesday . If anybody is bothering to come over that is. Munich is so two/three years ago
-
I don't think anybody really thinks he is senile.
It is simply a term.
It’s like nobody really believes the lord of the manor persona you sometimes use while referring to others as being ‘common’.
-
But the reason is they are common. Therefore what money they do have they spend.
they also like gold and lairy tracksuits.
Also some jobs that were considered ****. Like trade jobs are now jobs that pay rather well.
-
So, hypothetically, I could insult your wife in the vilest of language and that would be ok
'because it's just a term'?
I'm not sure you're really understanding the purpose of language, to be honest.
-
Again no.. I said I was happy for him to remain while showing improvement
It's simply the Stalinesque length of tenure that causes me an issue.
As you also alluded to in an earlier post, another manager may have come in and achieved more in the last ten years.
The club have been incredibly patient with him. Yet again this season we appear to have an injury list far greater than any other PL side. Was he not castigated for his outdated training methods by those inside the game on more than one occasion last year.
I don't know if this is true but it does appear to be a disturbing pattern.
-
I dunno, I guess it depends on what you see as common
Which in your case seems to be anybody without an attendant valet, strangely.
-
A lot of the Wenger out types. Seem rather regressive and wish to revert to George Graham as manager
and play 4-4-2
Is this because we had more commoners in the team during this era of football?
-
Is it cold yet?
-
I think anyone with a few grand to piss away is probably, socioeconomically, not common nowadays
-
Would you mind awfully not lumping Enfield in with Hertfordshire?
They are worlds apart, f. Or at least the bit of Hertfordshire I live in now is.
Cheshunt, not so much.
