Chelsea is learned and very much rational.
It is just the way of things.
It more deep seated, like the cousin you always hated or a kid from school. Chelsea is just some bloke at work you've recently come to hate.
The team? They're actually a pretty inoffensive bunch as these things go. There's no Graeme Roberts or Tedward ****tingham there.
The club? Sorry, but I just can't bring myself to hate a corporate entity. It makes no sense.
The supporters? While they may be irritating en masse and there are undoubtedly some thoroughgoing bellends among them, that's no different to any other club, including our own. Equally, I have a number of friends and acquaintances who support Tottenham who are splendid people whom I like and respect.
So what is it that we supposedly 'hate'?
that it's part of your identity as a rival football supporter. Like preferring one particular livery, colours and crest over another.
It's not always personal, in the sense you describe.
Also, I've yet to meet one of *them* who isn't a wrongcock.
I do think LA raises an interesting point about the staff too. Look at some of the recent arseholes who have sat on their bench. Not just Sherwood and Ferdinand but also Stefan Freund, Clive Allen, Joe Jordan, Awwy etc etc etc
With my England hat on, we can't have it both ways, I think.
cynical, r
You're going to get a shock when Steve Bould is named as Arsene's successor then ;-)
As for the wrongcock thing, I've met plenty of Arsenal fans I can't stand and plenty of Tottenham fans I like - it seems increasingly odd to align myself with the former and against the latter simply because of the teams we support.
What I'm saying, essentially, is: This football lark - bit silly, really, isn't it? http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif
At which point Shertard will be off to QPR, providing Awee isnt shown the door there beforehand.
just in time to take the England job when it is discovered that Roy Hodgson has read a book
