Watched the replay now. Two points: 1) Robbem would have COMFORTABLY got to the ball for a simple
tap in.
2) Robben could COMFORTABLY have stayed on his feet.
-
But you do agree that there was contact? If so, a red and a penalty was the correct decision.
I have no complaints at all.
-
But he couldn't have done both imo, if he had stayed on his feet
he would never have got to the ball in time
-
Of course. No complaints.
-
I don't believe there is any mention of 'contact' in the laws of the game.
It IS a physical contact sport, after all.

Robben goes into Chesney as much as Chesney into Robben
and he doesn't have control of the ball
-
He has more control over it than Chesney though. That's crucial.
-
I don't think you've much time left to change the ref's mind here,p
Bayern will be taking the penalty any minute now
-
Did not satisfy the 4D's. In particular - Direction.
-
Yes, Schezezney was just a bystander. It was a penalty, it was a red card. I'm not really sure why
anyone is arguing otherwise, tbh.

All about the FA cup now.......and finishing 3rd
-
That's ridiculous. If you take that literally, a player must be running DIRECTLY towards goal
for it to be a goalscoring opportunity.
-
4D ?- Direction. .is this some new boy band ?
-
As Ozil would have been
-
Coming down for the Cup match?
-
Well the whole concept of a clear goalscoring opportunity is plainly ludicrous.
-
Unfortunately not, will be in transit from Lyon to Val D'isere
pissed off actually as thought it would be 5pm kick off which would have been perfect
Had hoped it would be the final
-
And intentionally so because the game was never really supposed to be about these minute details.
-
Most right thinking people involved in football agree with you,b
A pen should be sufficient but again..........CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHOOT THON FÚCKER BLATTER!
PLEASE!
-
It wouldn't have been sufficient last night, imo.
-
I don't even agree with it when it goes for us,r
Although when the last time that happened Pope Frankie was an altar boy
-
Because it wasn't either? And if they were both correct why wasn't Boateng sent off earlier?
-
The same.
-
You're wrong as usual, but don't let that stop you.
