My thoughts on the Villa game
Their is no doubt that it was a bad first game of the season .
We were not great but the ref was a joke. He gave them a pen that was never one in a million years. The sending of lauren was a joke.
Still it was only the first game of the season. Its a 38 game season not a one game season. United lost on the first game last season and we know what happened after that.
Hearing some fans at the emirates call for arsene after the game makes my blood boil. Have they forgotten we won ten match put of 12 at the end of last season and had the second best away defence in the league.
Looks i agree that the club need to bring in few players in next few weeks to add to the team. But their are still two weeks left of transfer window so yets wait and see what happens.
Fans could be feeling very different about club after September 2nd transfer window day. So patience is needed .
-
Patience may be needed...but if we don't turn over Fenerbahce (2 games) then there is NO patience
-
My faith in Wenger has gone Modd.
I still believe in you though Modd.
Modd for Manager
-
True but we should knock them out at our place
really in the second leg. Of course it odd draw that knowing we could lose and yet still go through if turks lose their appeal the next day . :rubchin:
Anyway all i am saying is the reaction after our defeat by some arsenal fans on saturday was just silly. Its the first game of the season for f**ks sake.
-
Only thing I'm disappointed about is that after our excellent run at the end of last season
We've scrapped the two holding midfielders strategy :(
Is Fringpong fit....if so then chuck him into the midfield vs Fenerbache please!!
we need two guys screening the back four....
Can't believe we let Coquelin go.......
-
.....but against Villa?? ......at home???....surely we were the biggest favourites of all home teams
-

Thanks Wanger but U think you make a better manager
then me. Look don,t give up faith yet in manager. This season is vital for him and the club. We need to win something this year and i think if we don,t he will leave. If he does then he sign a new contract.
Its going to be nine month season so we need to just keep faith in team. People were calling for Arsene to go after the derby loss and then we won in munich and went on that magnificent run.
So again keep the faith.
-
I agree with you on that Tony
I am very surprised we did not start santi on saturday considering that mikel injured.
I am also amazed we let Coquelin go to. That was a bad call in my view
When arteta injured we do lack that very good defensive midfieder. We need to get that in the transfer window in my view. Their a player at everton who has got big hair that would be perfect for that.
We need new central defender , central midfielder and a striker. Two weeks to get them so yets see.
-
He is warming the bench at Freiburg, Could have done that here ..
-
Villa are hardly worst team in the league with their
quality of strikers. We only just beat them 2-1 last season. But look it game we expect to win but many things went against us. Bad ref, injuries, poor defending. These game happen.
I recall we won 6-1 at everton in 2009 and 2010 first game of the season and then went on to have a pretty poor season. First game does not always tell you everything.
-
Too late Modd - the SS Arsenal has hit the iceberg and is listing badly....
Wenger is taking this ship to the bottom of the ocean....
-
Nice to see the extra effort you put into that post - both from a content and punctuation viewpoint.
-
Look I understand the frustration you and other
have over lack of signings so far. But i don,t agree in the end arsene taking us nowhere view. He still same manager that bought us win in bayern munich and ten match out of 12 winning run to get us into chamapions league again.
Look i agree that its strange the club have left all their transfer buisness till the very end. But we not only big club struggling to bring in players. Look at united. Their champions and yet have had many bids rejected for players like cesc and baines. Same with Chelsea.
Its a long long season ahead so we need to keep behind the team and remeber that theirs going to be up and down. But that what life as a football fan is all about.
-
What after one match? You deluded old fool
-
No surprise you choose to focus on that
It is typical of you to respond by focusing on my spelling and grammer then what i posted.
Yes sometimes i spell better then I do at other times like i did today. But that does not mean I am a fake as you have called me in the past.
-
How on earth can you compare Man United losing to Everton last season with that debacle on Saturday
-
Oh just f**k off already.
-
I am comparing the fact that you can lose the first
game of the season and have a great season. You can win the first game of the season and have a awful one. It does not define the team
All i am saying is in my view the reaction to Saturday loss was just way over the top. It was a poor peformance but on a other day we have won without the poor ref and some of the misses at the end.
We do need to spend in transfer window but we will in my view. Look what happened in 2011 window. we bought in five players. Those included mertersacker and arteta and they turned out to be two great signings.
So keep the faith man.
-
Saturdays reaction wasn't just to that game fella
-
Same old people with the same old abuse
change the record.
-
I know that and spoke to some fans after the game
and they were pissed about lack of transfer in the summer. But i said to them like i say on this board wait and see who we bring in.
I agree that ivan and arsene need to get cheque book out in next two weeks and start spending. If we want to win league we need at least three players to come in.
-
Way to shove the olive branch up my arse you c**t. The word 'content' did appear in my original post
-
Re: How on earth can you compare Man United losing to Everton last season with that debacle on Saturday
-
I just seen that again and I am sorry for that. You were
trying to be fair and be postive about what i said in my content.
I am sorry. I am so used to a negative response from you that i did not read through whole post.
Again sorry mack on that one and thank you for the praise. Although i doubt after my first response today you be willing to throw another olive branch at me. :-(
-
I'll keep it under advisement.
-
That is fair enough
Again sorry about that and i will now shut up. :banghead:
-
Exactly, M. Well said
-
You know the season has started right ? The business should have been done way in advance of this.
The state of our squad is an absolute disgrace right now.
The buck needs to stop somewhere and it's not with the fans
-
Again i understand why your pissed but we not
only fans pissed about lack of spending. Look at united fans with lack of players their bought in or everton fans.
But we have two weeks to get some big players in so keep the faith and while that happens we have four big games again two london teams and two games against the turks. :-)
-
Thanks man
-
patience wise i'm a lost cause fella, waited long enough now, how many groundhog seasons is enough ?
We need change, fresh ideas
-
look i understand that after eight years without
winning anything its understandable you feel that way. But it new season with nine month of game ahead. Let see what arsene does in transfer window and if he can win that elusive trophly this season. If he does then we all be happy. If he does not then it will be end of his time at the club.
-
And some new supporters it seems
