Saturdays bench will be the perfect example as to Wengers mismanagement and neglect.
No defender no forward and possibly the only walking first team squadie, if he's not dead, Rosicky.
Arsene the genius :hehe:

It hasnt been the best summer, it has to be said
I think it is beyond saving now. We will struggle in the first few games and any new signings will take a while to make an impact.
Even a good bit of shopping will leave the question of why we waited so f**king long and ran the squad down so far before acting.
If it costs us a cl place, and you have to accept that is very possible, they are going to look like utter, utter c**ts.
I think this is the summer where we have all finally run out of excuses.
-
Have you seen the teamsheet?
And if you have, all it's evidence of is that we've cleared out a lot of deadwood and haven't replaced in time. As disappointing as that may be, it's hardly indicative of 'neglect'.
-
"Judge us at the end of the season."
-
if you sold your house without having anywhere else to live that would be very stupid.
-
Nice metaphor but it works in the other direction too
-
The management will deserve every bad result.
-
It could be considered that we have gone into a new season totallu unprepared
Through our own decisions and failures.
Spin it how you like, it remains beyond disappointing
-
If you bought a house without selling your own one first?
Hey, you would have somewhere to live at least :-)
-
Unless Wenger thinks he is on the verge of making the signings we need, and it isn't as much of an
issue as us uninformed fans think.
(Playing devil's advocate here, if you couldn't tell)
-
we have no backup whatsoever and on Saturday we move out.
-
Ok. He is seriously running out of time though
Too late to help with the first few games and the cl. Whatever happens from now, sorry but he has f**ked up here.
-
It's baffling as the club has done *so* well at clearing the deadwood - a major failing of previous seasons - that one would have thought that impetus would extend to bringing in new players... Sadly, so far, it hasn't.
-
done well clearing the deadwood? disputable
-
well its logical to think that a manager who is held in such high esteem would indeed have a plan.
-
That was part of the point I made
-
To date, I think that is a massive understatement
-
yes. you dont get rid of a knackered boiler in the summer without making
Sure the new one is bought and installed well before winter starts.
-
The question is whether the f**k up is his or those around him
i.e. the board. If it is Wenger, it is perhaps feasible to suggest that he shouldn't really be offered a new contract. If it is members of the board/shareholders, we are really and truly f**ked.
-
If only signing world class footballers was as simple as installing a new boiler, eh
-
The board made a statement of intent in May. What's happened since is purely of Wengers own making.
-
that argument would hold some favour if it wasn't for the fact he's had 2 and half months
To sign any type of player let alone the Suarez class.
-
what do you know about fitting boilers and the difficulty involved?
What if the pipes on the new one don't line up?....not so easy then is it......as opposedto going to pool and saying 'hhere's 50 mill for your striker'......
-
why do you think buying Suarez solves all problems?
-
IknowIknowIknow EUFS, I just couldn't resist
-
Why the question here?
Arsene has the final say on transfers. "Too expensive." There went Higuain and Gustavo.
-
understood.
-
Eh?
When I saw 'installing a new boiler' I mean 'calling someone up to install a new boiler for me'. It really is quite simple :-)
-
How on earth can you possibly know this for sure?
-
Do you believe everything that people tell you?
The board have made these same statements every year for the past 5 years
-
you got me there. nothing for sure, surely.
but we have relatively trustworthy journos who reached consensus on these stories. What else would explain away these failures?
-
"Trustworthy journos"
-
Jesus wept, you do nothing but moan
-
so the accounts published and the new deals dont backup those statements.?
The board didn't clog up the squad with 10 or more players on massive salaries whom in the end had to be let go at a loss.
Everyone elses fault but dont blame Teflon Wenger.
-
and the stupidest thing the board did was to tell the world that we have shit loads of money
The fact is there is a lot of blame to go round. It isn't just Wenger who is at fault.
-
I was half joking at the start of the summer when i said that you only go around banging on about
How much you have to spend if you have no intention of spending any of it.
:homer:
-
Either that or you have EVERY intention of spending it

-
There is that possibility
in which case getting rid of Wenger would solve no problems at all but would create many new ones.
-
Would you walk into a car showroom announcing how much you have to spend
or do you keep your maximum budget under wraps?
