I am throughly enjoying these olympics and it's so amazing to think it's all going on 15 minutes drive from me. Actually watched the equestrian/three day eventing and archery http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/yikes.gif

I think the fanfare for the LA Olympics is the best, the cauldron/flame for London 2012 is by far the best.

I'm looking forward to actually attending next week

It's been such a stress free pre season that I'm actually looking forward to the start of the new season.

This pre-season has been low-key, but I still yearn for the days that

Charlie Nicholas, Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Sol Cambell Type of signings were made. The ones that put a smle on my face that wasn't easily removed for weeks, months and years thereafter

Floyd, you must be gutted that we've signed three decent players this window.

After all, your whole persona here is based on constantly cùnting off the club the rest of us support, albeit in an occasionally amusing way.

I think you'd have more satisfaction supporting Spurs, on whose message boards you could find far more mileage slagging off the fact that their/your front-line next season consists so far of, erm, Defoe.

You could argue all 3 of them played very well for us and two of 'em made a vast

profit for the club when they went elsewhere http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif the club were not worse off in many ways by signing them.

and don't understand that our defensive problems are not caused by the abilities of our defenders, but by the way the team plays overall.

Yes I rate Sagna but he is injured and needs serious competition

Gibbs is plain **** at left back and Santos is good but not world class. Ok thats the player ratings out the way. Now stop repeating that load of rubbish about how the defense is poor due to the team tactics just because everyone else says it on here. You are following the thicko herd cos it sounds clever. Our defense is poor generally but the fullbacks are causing 90% of the issue. Dont argue with me because I know my football. Great defenders prevent goals, end of. Barcelona play a very offensive game along with possession. So do Manchester United. Neither concede much because their defenders are superb. Listen to me and take it onboard.

Your "Dont argue with me" argument is so obviously pathetic it hardly merits a response.

However - You also completely failed to address my point, as well as not grasping the fact that apart from the early season when we didn't have a team, our only bad spell of form came when we had all four full backs out injured. Apart from those two spells, we had a good season.
