Hosting the limpics is supposed to give the host country a 50% boost in medals
on what they would normally achieve. Not going to happen this time is it?
ballroom dancing hasn't started yet.
Nor has cheese rolling or gurning.

i didn't mean to mock chief...but

all the same
Mock by actually making a pretty stupid and inaccurate statement
What is the stupid and inaccurate part?
The 50 per cent boost part. Last time the US held it they actually went down in terms of total medal
long way from a 50% boost. Greece went from 13 to 16 medals 50%. China probably just about managed it but there were slightly different factors at play than mere home advantage as these games are showing.
As for the UK getting it they average around 10 golds a games over recent Olympics. 15 golds is easily obtainable.
I am only going by what the broadcasters said during the opening ceremony

Were these the broadcasters who didn't know who Tim Berners Lee was
and thought a tribute to the 7/7 victims wasn't "tailored" for American viewers so refused to show it?
Most likely..but we're all dumb septics over here so who knows
Those would be the ones. NBC
It does. When the host country actually puts some sustained investment in sport...
...instead of flogging off school sports fields!
You dont miss a beat Ash...my feeling at the time was that the US and china
should have been left out of such calculations..i did'nt follow it up and argue though as the lad just doesn't like me http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif whatevs
