The ‘atmosphere’ at the emirates will be gone soon.
I think a lot of people started to forget last season that Arteta's time at Arsenal has not been one of straightforward progression. He has experienced quite a few bad spells already and he is definitely in another one now. The things he has tried to add to our game are just not working so far. A spell like this has been on the cards since the start of the season.
Our league run last season sort of showed he was going somewhere.
However he seems to have gone backwards on that.
It’s fully his squad now and spend a load of money. Needs to start winning something. And sort out his subs. Saka was awful but never takes him off.
Getting knocked out of both domestic cups at the earliest stages two seasons in a row is simply not good enough for this club.
I just thought it was clever PR by the club to by Arteta time.
They also have smartly got certain online outlets or indviduals on X on their side to push it too. In return they get access to the club press conferences etc.
It's quite clever really, anytime you question anything they brand you as a fool that doesn't understand what Arteta is doing.
Given the financial climate, and the managers in post at City and Liverpool, one might even argue that what Arteta achieved last season is about as much as we can realistically expect. You might nick a title if City and Liverpool have an off year but failing that....
City, I accept but Liverpool finished outside the top 4 last season and Klopp was being rounded upon.
They’re a far stronger proposal than last season but not significantly above us. A fit Partey and perhaps Timber doing what he was meant to do at LB and who knows ?
It’s time to move on from Nketiah and that turgid German. If he’s not prepared to run a risk with ESR then he should bite the bullet and cash in while he still carries transfer value.
FFP is clearly an issue in this window and those two could bring in 80m between them. No ones buying a crocked Partey regardless of the press hype.
That’s a bit skewed. Not taking anything away from Klopp but he was afforded the luxury of realising that we were hopeless in their penalty area. Once he’d gained the lead, he loud *bring on the kids and sit back.
Arteta, while frantically chasing the game, opted to throw on ESR and Trossard at 87 minutes.

Yes, that would be best for everyone :-\ https://www.theguardian.com/football...olific-striker
