The strange case of Mattieu Debuchy
I thought he was excellent against Zagreb last week and, whatever Bellerin brings, he almost warranted staying in the team for the weekend but what was he playing at last night?
He was frequently 20 yards too far up the pitch and more often than not he was playing 15 yards too far inside too. Was he instructed to follow Chadli? He often looked like he was just sat there doing f**k all.
-
Worst single performance since Carlos Sanchez for Villa against us last season
-
I thought he very harshly savaged by some media post Zagreb.
-
Funny how things change in a year. Most thought him/Per/Gibbs were 3 of the 4 penciled
in to start at the back when the league got under way last year, and now none of them start if everyone's fit.
-
Sagna was all over the place for a year and then came back to his best before f**king off to Citeh.
Long term injuries, y’see.
-
great tactics by AW innit
lulled them into attacking mode, AW brought Alexis on and they went into a right old two and eight
-
Odd thing to say about Per given that he has yet to be left out when fit.
I think he is still one of our most important players.
-
Or Fash at the Awimb 5-a-side
-
I can understand it effecting sharpness, touch, microsituations
Not completely forgetting the basics of a position you've played for the last 15 years though.
-
I dunno, I've thought gibbs was suspect for a few years
-
Seems to play very narrow. He's almost in a centre back position sometimes.
-
The lad is basically an RSJ
I'd still love to see Gabriel in front of the two when it really matters
-
I think that is a tough one - depends on what happens with Gabriel's hearing today
If he gets off I think Wenger will stick with him
-
That troubles me greatly. I wouldnt dream of leaving him out
I may be going on about this for some time :-)
-
He was excellent in that game
-
It's not really the hearing that's the worry
-
Why? Gabriel and Kos have done well together. It's not like Mertesacker is the perfect defender....
-
Those basics change depending on your level of fitness though.
-
No, he isnt perfect but he is still brilliant. I have seen too many games where he magically
Appears right underneath every ball into the box. He gives us something the other two dont and i think he fits beautifully with koscielny.
I have come to depend on him and trust him, like an old dog. It takes me time accept that the dog needs to be put down.
I will be ok, you just need to give me a bit of time :-)
-
I agree actually - just think Wenger will give Gabriel a run
-
Yeah but what happens when the dog wants a new Porsche?
-
That is two mentions of dogs. One more and redgunamo will appear
