What should I have noted about his demeanour? Or do you mean the dropping of players that he had no say in purchasing etc?
He probably wanted to do it after the Europa League was over when he could just walk away quietly but the club’s preference is to give him a grand send off.
Mickey mentioned yesterday about his going away party and how much the club b are spending on it...and that’s internal only. The external stuff in the stadium for the last home game or even an Europa League / Wenger parade will be huge.
Pretty sure most people in his position would like to avoid stuff like this...
As I said, that is a profoundly dishonest presumption: I live on a couple of dozen acres of my own property, have comprehensive private healthcare and insurance, a decent stash of firearms, a pack of hunting dogs and a flock of wild geese.
The trouble with you is, you is a lefty and therefore wilfully immature and terrified of personal responsibility; essentially frightened of growing up and looking after yourself. You're delighted, and relieved, your government agrees to save you the trouble by playing mummy and daddy.
I'd tell you to man up, but it's almost certainly too late for that, in your case :-)
That's the thing, isn't it. It's alright if it's six or seven people you know and may care about. Your hounds, for instance. Your wife, your kids; people like that.
But when was the last time the government bought you a dog biscuit, a sheepskin blanket and a new collar? How about some of that saucy Parisian lingerie you like, a few nights in the Caribees and a new Range Rover? A knife-and-fork supper and a decent bot of your favourite champagne? And I bet they never even imagine you might fancy a pair of the latest y-3's, a new Nintendo game and a comic book, a bottle of pop and some sweets?
It's the bland, indifferent, impersonal nature of the thing that grates and destroys both spirit and soul. It isn't their fault really but government doesn't care what you want, it doesn't care what you like and it doesn't care what you get because it's not their money.
Privately-funded roads that charge tolls, p.
If I don't pay health insurance, that's down to me.
A police force is inimical to individual freedom and ought to be done away with and replaced by private security.
Government has a role to play in national defence and the operation of the law. That's it. Everything else would be better left to private capital and market forces.
One would have a choice, wouldn't one? Which means that if a security provider were bad, you could get a better one - and they'd be competing, thus driving down costs. As it is, our police force is a useless, bloated and ideologically-motivated mess more worried about being called racist than about solving or preventing crime. Don't tell me the private sector couldn't do better.
Well, quite. Ask the man who knows.
It's a brilliant idea for me, of course. My post was not based on ingratitude so much as incredulity; why do intelligent people believe giving lots of money to government so government can give lots of money to people like me is a good idea.
And they also get bored, and boredom leads to pointless corruption. It's all just silly, juvenile, bureaucratic games.
I was reading up on Whitey Bulger the other week. I had actually come across his case many years ago by accident, as I was looking into a legendary fighting English bull-terrier called "Whitey" and the Bulger-thing came up in a search.
Anyway, it seems that the so called special counsel who is currently harassing President Trump is heavily, possibly even criminally, implicated in that whole fiasco. And most of these people like him aren't even doing it for the money! I really think they're just bored
Right. And Jack Nicholson's character in "The Departed".
But the bit I don't get is, when does it stop? When do these fellows say, "Right. I've got enough dirty cash; I'm off to live in the country, and leaving not even a wisp of cloud behind, to breed border collies and Labradors and my wife will be joining me as CEO of the Ponies, Kids and other Farmyard Animals Farmstead Concern for the rest of our natural lives", or whatever?
