and Wales (Gower Island).
Purbeck Island beneath Bournemouth was my favourite place. Furthermore of course Henley was nice and I liked Lyme Regis as well.
Brighton has turned into a pikey ****hole compared to the last time I went there (14 years ago).
England and the English were great! Even the Welsh were nice. :-) However, there is one thing you could learn from us Dutchies, and that is your infrastructure. It takes ages to actually get somewhere. Too crowded on motorways (congestions on the M25 :-( )and the A and B roads are very narrow and there are far too many roundabouts.
:hehe:
Gorgeous roads, managed to pull an average speed on 60mph door to door on a 12 hr trip
what did you do? Drive 3 laps around the whole country?
20 minutes drives to City airport for me :cloud9:
Sorry about Dorset
We really should have taken more notice at the whole european thing, Belgium's roads are better than the UKs
I have to drive to Brussels tomorrow :-(
and if we had they're system they would be ****e and full here.
France, germany, Italy get hooorrrenddous traffic jams as does belgium and holland in fact..stop being such a naive euro loving nmumpty imo
It won't come as a surprise to many UK motorists that our roads are ranked as the fifth busiest in the world. With 144.8 cars per mile, we're just ahead of Italy's total of 137.4. Luxembourg, Portugal and Germany make up the top 10's other European representatives, in that order.
too narrow A and B roads and a roundabout every effing mile on important through routes are the problem.
or the homes along the road imo... and roundabouts..mixture of traffic calming..democracy on the road for people accessing without waitnig at lights or risk of pulling out onto a fast road..plus good fun for weekend end eve boy racers imo
we actually moved around quite a lot by cabs because public transport was mostly ****.
How very embarrassing
Also, our road system is among the busiest on earth. The comparison with virtually anywhere else in Europe is therefore unfair.
although I rather believe the crowd at Brighton changed.
