Yakob's looked like a top drawer player since he's moved to his best position of LCH instead of the brief failure at inverted LB and decentish enough run as a back-up normal LB.
It's just with Cala as first choice cover for both MLS and Gabby {and the option of playing JT at LB and Benjamin at RB}, Kiwior is gonna think why can't I be beating teams like Real home and away every week instead of waiting for loads of injuries.
Lots of Italian teams want him. He should be playing every week for a CL team. He's good enough and it's a vital time for his career.
The thing is, from our perspective, while we hope we never have such an injury-wrecked season again, having Kiwior in the squad is worth far more to us than the 20 mil we played. {Like Ethan is now cover for Odin as well as B, but at the start of the season, wouldn't Fabio have been nice to have when Odin was injured?}
Will an Italian team look at how Kiwior played against RM, and how today, when we had our first game against the Geordies without at least one of Willy and Gabby, we kept our first clean sheet? And think that he's worth ?35-40m?
Or will they all try to get him cheap or on loan?
He's given his all for us, and when we actually got to see what he can do, we can see he's good. If MLS hadn't broken through and Cala was LB, then Kiwior would stay as cover for Gabby. And his career needs him to be playing every week. He's CL knock-out quality.
But that means he's worth more than the cost price we're likely to be offered. And no way do we do loan with an option. KT's going. Get rid of Zinny. But with our usual back 4 for the second half of this season, with BW, Cala and an injured Tomi, then Kiwior is worth more than the 20 mil we paid for him.
