I know loads of people who couldn't afford a Sky subscription any more
so they cancelled it and watch the games they want in the pub instead
I'm sure US sports are as expensive to watch in person as football matches are now in the PL. Do they also bitch and moan about it?
The fact is that football used to be a sport which only the working class would attend. Over the decades it removed a lot of violence and other bad behaviour, sexism, homophobia etc, clubs have invested in modern stadia to attract corporate visitors, European flights have become cheaper than taking a 25 min train journey, games on TV are incredibly high quality etc etc. The two eras are like chalk and cheese so it's pointless moaning that the "real" fans are being priced out of the game, because thos people are no more "real" by virtue of the fact that their father used to attend games, than Johnny Foreigner is
Yeah, Haskell played well last week. He's right about turnovers. As long as you make sure you're
Slowing down their rucks and clearing out your own quickly it's not something worth worrying about.
I broadly agree with where you're going with this, but the whole point is
that football, and specifically for these supporters, going to every one of your team's home games, is *different*.
I wasn't suggesting they were, of course, but merely alluding to the fact that
the Football "Supporters" Federation would deem the latter worthy of their consideration but not the former. Rather reminds me of how that utter c**t Gordon Taylor of the Professional Footballer's Association would defend certain players (i.e. British) even if they had committed rape/murder yet would happily throw others i.e. Patrick Vieira under the bus at the first opportunity
Unfortuantely though, it is not a God given right that you can always do what you have previously
this bit seems to escape them
I would like to spend my whole life on safari
I can't afford to.
Tough tits on me.
I think once you concede the point that football is unique, then all is lost.
And I'm sure everyone here sympathises with you

But when people have their things taken away from them and given to someone richer
they will inevitably be unhappy about it, even if one supports the notion that the rich should have all the things.
But you'd think I was pretty silly if I went to Norman Carr Safaris and demanded they make it
