My wife and her colleagues went back to work today to find individual notes on their desks from the
departing cleaners and the following written in their office diary.

We are so, so sad to say ‘goodbye’ to you. Our circumstances do not allow us to continue working for you.

To be fair, I was pleasantly surprised by how good their spelling and punctuation were.
That's probably rather patronising of me, though.
What are the 'circumstances' which demand the removal of their labour?
Are they, like Our Lady, being ascendinated into Heaven?
I'm assuming they have to go and live in a commune in the Mojave desert with their cult leader and
then die in a shootout with the Feds.
