Just got round to watching the Laurie Cunningham documentary. Good stuff
but it had John Barnes in it doing his old "everyone is racist" routine. He actually said that the difference to today in racism is simply that it is now 'covert instead of overt', as if the savage racism of the seventies is in anyway comparable to a time when racist abuse gets fans on the front of tabloids :****er:
Anyway, as well as being a great player, Cunningham also came across as a very decent guy. One thing I found depressing, though , was that his son doesn't speak English.
