View Full Version : Can we finally accept that Havertz is a useless, gangly Kraut ?

Not sure if you noticed 7s but Saka was absolute toilet today, as he has been for the past few weeks.

He doesn’t deserve a pass, 7s, he did nothing useful the entire match and wasted endless good positions.

I thought Havertz played quite well, actually. At least for the first hour or so.

Could have been worse- we could have drawn.

Thank **** for the winter break. We all need it :-)

Cup ties and seeing a slew of ruggedly handsome Championship centre forwards just lashing the fackin’ thing into the onion bag without the need for five touches like that criminally incompetent jew-murderer Havertz. HNY to you too WES.

Do you remember the quality of players and management we had when we used to win titles?

Gone. All gone. It is what it is.

We are what we are.

Well, yes, Saka was total gash today but unlike Havertz, he gets a pass on account of being a super talent, despite being endlessly run into the ground by Arteta.
Even though we were comfortably cruising for that first half, we all knew we were going to have our noses rubbed into that steaming pile of horse shyte that Liverpool eagerly conjure up whenever we encounter them.
Therein lies the problem. We lack confidence at this stage and, in turn, resort to the mindset of default underdogs in these fixtures.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that Klopp was being touted for the axe last season but has managed to make a couple of astute signings and somehow put them back on track. We, in contrast, resemble the obligatory deflating balloon, where we should have pushed on further.
Facilitating that hapless streak has played a large part in our stalling momentum.
Lastly, I’m completely at a loss why Arteta threw on a couple of subs at 87mins. What did he think they were going to achieve in 6 or 7 minutes ?

I really don't think this defeat had much to do with Liverpool. Just another episode of 'couldn't score in a brothel'. Or defend a set piece.

Pretty much sums it up. Bloody infuriating. We should have been 3 up at half-time.

I do wish Odegaard would stop waving his arms to the fans.

Rather ironic that against THEM, all we really needed was someone to tell our forwards to just calm down.

 I also thought Havertz was decent for 60 minutes. As usual, don't understand the subs.

I don't understand what Smith Rowe has done wrong. A player that was so effective for us a few years ago can hardly get minutes even in this pretty desperate situation.

It is approaching the point where he must be thinking of leaving.

He was in the England squad. Nowhere near it now, wouldn't blame him for leaving, far too good to be an 87th minute sub.

You do realise, don't you, that referring to appearances as "minutes" is simply asking for it? Just egging them on, encouraging them.

Anyway, to your point; perhaps squad hierarchy demands that other players' needs come first, more senior individuals' also need "minutes"? Cedric in the Champions League, for example, had a greater, more long-standing claim to a spot than the youngsters everyone wanted to see?

Not certain what young ESR's preferred position is but suppose it's where the captain and the Kraut also play. We can see why he might struggle for games, when the three of them are available.

I like Kai but he solves a problem we didn't really have. Like Dave the goalie.

I've always said, the trouble with young managers is not that they don't have all the answers, but that they have too many questions. We hired him knowing he was young and inexperienced and full of "ideas" though so we have to let him get on with it and support him.

He’s been usurped for an experiment that’s failing dismally.

He was pretty successful on the left for a while. A different option to Martinelli who is wasted out there on his own.

The problem is that Xhaka left. He has replaced him in the side. So far the only part of Xhaka's role he has replicated is the ability to get booked for your first foul.
