Tight game. It's the Champions' League; almost every match is a proper test.

Unlucky not to have a similar one earlier. Only an elite save stopped it.

Yep.

2-0 now though; another beauty, this time from the # :cloud9: .

Careful now Red, AAR has assured us that all the teams we play in the group stage are utter ****e :hehe:

Really good game, and a good performance. Rice and Tomiyasu were outstanding.

Raya only made two howlers :-)

The group stage is going the way they always do. 🤫 We’ve got two easy home games coming up and one win there and we’re pretty much through. Look at the table. There’s no drama. We’ve done the hard part. Even lost a game and are still clear at the top with piss easy games to come.

I don't think Sevilla counts as piss easy. They look a pretty good side to me.

Couple of decent stops from him too. Perhaps howlers is part of his method.

Other that hopeless defending from a corner and yet another shocking keeper performance I don’t remember them creating much. Same as Lens, the energy from their home fans only works for one of the games. They’ll be easy meat for us at home. PSV away will be tougher.

I was very interested in the reverse punch back over his own bar. He should copyright that :-)

Also. We’re topping that group without the synergy we had with Xhaka. Hopefully that kicks in soon with his replacements. More importantly for the league than against these bucket teams in the group stage.

They didn't create much but then I thought we played very well. When we put our minds to it we can actually defend. Particularly without Zinchenko in the side.

How was Eddie when he came on ? He appears to be getting rinsed on Twitter ?

Honestly- he was a bit ****. Didn't really get up to speed. Trossard did.

I’ll never understand why he doesn’t just play Zinchenko in the xhaxa role? It seems such an obvious switch to fix two of our positions

I wonder if that might have happened by now if Timber was fit. But Arteta knows what he wants.

I have wondered if he has considered trying Ben White as an inverted right back.

He just gave away foul after foul. Should have kept Balogun

Nah - did well to cash in on him, I reckon. Picking to play for the US said a lot about him. Not pulling up many trees at Monaco either.

On September 22, he had his first start at the club, in which he missed two penalties in a 1–0 defeat against Nice. :hehe:

I'd like to see Havertz play more as a 9 though

Then had a goal and assist in the next match.

Hope we get Toney or Watkins in January.

He isn't the sort of striker Arteta wants at this point. He was also worth decent money :-)

The weird punch thing was laughable. Other than that, and the terrible pass in the first half, he wasn't too bad. Sevilla didn't press him much on the ball which was a relief :-)

That has been true from the start and has surprised me a bit. In that sphere he is no upgrade on Ramsdale.

I don't understand the narrative that Raya (or a gk generally) shouldn't be dropped just for making mistakes!!

What do they have to do to get dropped then? Ramsdale was dropped mainly on the basis of manager's preference.

Tommy was excellent last night, definite improvement on Zinny.

Jesus made me eat my words that Trossard should start central! Havertz would be a better substitution option than Eddie.

Rice was superb. Odin's been a little out of it the last two games since the international break.

Sunday will hopefully be a straightforward outing in preparation for the trip up north the following week.
