I have a lovely new British passport, in blue. None of that EU rubbish!
It was made in Poland and doesn't work in any of the e-gates at any UK airport. :-)

Tbf, my previous purple one didn't work in any e-gate either, fingers crossed my shiny, new blue one will ;-)

My main problem is the facial recognition thing struggles to take in all of my beard (which I don't have in either of my passports anyway

They may have resolved the problem now, so you might get lucky :-)

Mine looks more black than blue. I found putting it in the e-gate the right way round helped enormously!
