View Full Version : I genuinely have no idea how that wasn't a penalty

he was clean through, no reason to go down and was clearly clipped. Rashford does that and it's a penalty

This is one issue I have with VAR.(well one problem) they only showed one angle (I don't like this with certain tackles as they can be made to look at lot worse) But form another angle looks like Casemiro knocks him down. None of their players contested it at the time.

If the first contact wasn't a penalty, the second was...

Very slight contact on the first phase is enough to push one leg on to the other.

I am ok with the idea that it isn't a penalty. I am far less comfortable with the idea that it is a clear and obvious error.

Sadly that "clear and obvious error" malarkey was always going (intended?) to be the thin end of the wedge.

I do like the United manager including the penalty in his list of complaints, conveniently ignoring the fact that it was overturned :-)

He doesn't seem to like the offside rule either :-)

I thought it was offside straight away. Well done, Gabriel.....just

ETH does come across as a bit of cÙnt at times.

It appears Jadon Sancho thinks the same :hehe:

Probably not the cleverest thing to say the day after the transfer window slams shut

Same here, the minute the ball went through. I was surprised there was no flag.

Seen the freeze frame again. It is definitely offside :-)

I thought he dealt with Ronaldo and Maguire quite well last season so I am a bit surprised he went public with this. I wonder if it is deliberate or was a slip of the tongue.

United were pretty awful yesterday. Not sure why we were so passive in the press. I expected us to go after them in the second half but we didn't really.

Was funny when their wee lad CB had to go off for Maguire that they immediately had to change tactics and just boot it up the pitch from goal kicks.

The Munich's keeper clears out a Wolves player in the box with a two forearm smash to the head and that isn't clear and obvious but that pen was.

VAR really does seem to spend a lot of time making it hard on themselves. That or all refs of any kind are attention seeking c*nts of the highest order.

I vote the latter :-)

Jared Gillet - ****ing aussie in our league. Specialist VAR ref - ie an absolute ****. Trying to earn his money/minute of attention

This obviously...

Also, Mike Dean is an Analyst on Sky? I shall watch football on Optus Sports from now on...

He started by saying it was a penalty and then watched it repeatedly and changed his mind. I didn't hear him give any precise explanation.

I came to the conclusion that he is just a ****. Which I think we knew already.

They do seem to be finding more and more ways to get things wrong. At first it was grappling with the technology, then tinkering with the rules. We've had countless examples of human error, some of which are impossible to understand. And then you have arseholes likes Dean admitting he didn't want to make life difficult for his mate.

I think refs either understand the game in an elevated way that the rest of us simply cannot comprehend, or they are just ****ers :-)
