"Turner’s penalty statistics are very impressive too. He’s faced 24 in his career, and saved 11 of them – that’s a 45.83% success rate. Aaron Ramsdale, by comparison, has saved 9 of 33 during his career, which is a success rate of 27.27%"

Surely with those stats he's a must to come off the bench any time we're facing a penalty?

Probably worth noting the quality of players taking those penalties against Turner vs Ramsdale. Ramsdale's figures are actually very good

Most of those in the MSL presumably? Not quite the same as facing a PL penalty taker.

If we concede a penalty in the first minute you think we should sub Ramsdale for Turner?

So no, not even for a penalty shoot-out (though hopefully we would have used all our subs already seeking a winner).

I'd consider it yeah. Even that extra bit of ****ing about bringing on a sub can only hamper the penalty taker. I remember Wenger saying once he was very close to subbing on Mart Poom in some cup game that went to pens after he was saving everything all week in training. He didn't and Almunia of all people went on to save about 3.
