12th T20WC knockout round match won by the team batting second in a row.

Have to go back to a rain affected match in 2014 for the last semi or final won by the team batting first.

It's a joke.

Last year we were the favourites and qualified top of the group with a NRR far much better than the other three in the semis. But lost to NZ cos we batted first.

4 whole tournaments now. If you have everyone playing T20 leagues all the time, then when you get the four best, most in form and evenly matched teams then batting 2nd is too much of an advantage.

Chances of 12 in a row is 1 in 4,096 - just under 0.025%.

If the next tournament is the same, is there any point in continuing with it in this format?

Maybe do the last 4 as a league where everyone plays everyone twice, once batting first, once batting second and then using points and NRR. That would be 12 games, not three though. But could do that if we had an extra week. 2 day break then one match a day.
