Fúcking. Hell.

It reminds me of growing up in the 70s. I was always frustrated that I never saw where we were in the league because on Match of the Day they'd say, 'Let's have a look at the top of the table.... and now the bottom...' and we never apeared in either.

:hehe:

You know it’s a weird season when you’re concerned about the Cup Final because Bobby Moorstafi is injured

Well, yes. The days of getting a 0-0 at home to Forest and thinking it was a decent result are forever etched.

But really? Are we that shít again?

Fúcking. Hell.

in 1994-95 we finished 12th - within a decade we had won the league three times including the only unbeaten season in proper football's history (**** off Preston you played 12 ****ing games against scout teams)

We got to a final that season, too.

And lost it. :-(

And less than two seasons after having appointed a new manager we did the double.

So the league and the FA Cup next year or Arteta Out!

I expect nothing less. Though will settle for the League and the Europa Cup :)

hypothetical - if we finish 8th (or lower, Dennis forbid) next season. Do we keep on with the Arteta project?

Yes, we’ve seen enough from Arteta to give him 5 years or so imo.

Unless he loses the players and drags us into a potential relegation battle.

Like Jose Mourinho did. Twice. :hehe:

5 years? That will only happen if AFTV get dismantled... ;-)

I keep reading how Stan needs to start backing the manager etc

Wasn’t our net spend quite high last summer? Pepe and Saliba was a 100mil commitment alone :rubchin:

£100m is one or two decent players nowadays. As you've shown in your example.

£100m isn't a 'high' spend. Although, we could see what effect the jackiechandemic has on the transfer market for the non-elite clubs (like The Arsenal)
