how would they know he was asymptomatic if he called in sick and self-isolated for 7 days?
they'd should have to pay him SSP from 'Day 1', at least.

They wouldn't, of course. But self-isolating for 7 days and then going back to work would totally defeat the point as he'd be going back when the risk had actually heightened.

It’s at times like this I appreciate living in a socialist paradise. 80% salary from your employer for the first 14 days and then a doctors note sees it continue. If the kids are sick (or schools forced to shut) you get 120 days per year that you can take off and get 80% of your salary. Socialism :cloud9:
