3rd or 4th division :cloud9: We're really doing this 1987 thing.

They ARE the 3rd and 4th Division, young man.
League One my arse. They'll be calling it the Crystalship next. And the 4th will be the Good Ship Venus.

did, what is now known as, The Championship become the 'First Division' when the Premier League/Premiership was born?

I think so, though Sod and LA will definitely know, including the date of the change to the minute.

Scottish division, imo. There's no sense taking unnecessary risks.

Not sure if I am happy with Leeds... with my son in their academy and him being a huge gooner he is either going to get the piss taken out of him or they will all have a go at him if Arsenal win. :-\

Don't worry.

Well yes, if you can count the 1% chance he will actually play for them.... very soundly run club and seem to give young players more of a chance than most (and they stuffed the Mancs on Sunday, which is nice)

For about 12 years it was the football league divisions 1,2 & 3

Not sure if that was a cup match?
But yes, we did...remember Merson smacking in a great 25yarder to get us back in the match at Highbury in 93 i think (La??)

 I was at University in Sheffield :old: Went to the replay (chauffeured by one Amy Lawrence). Merse did indeed score a great goal in the first game. Wrighty got the winner in the replay past Lukic (the lob –*actually a chip - IUFG may be thinking of was another game much later, with Dennis and Merse also scoring). Travelling back to Sheffield was fun as we had to go a different way to most of the other Arsenal fans. The long string of replays was a couple of years earlier

That finish was a thing of beauty, i. Got the luck of the bounce for it to run into his path (sure that was how Dennis meant it to work out) but Johnnie had no chance with the finish
“clarke! One nudding leeds!”
llllllllllllllllllllllllllorimerrrrrrrrrrrr!
That should be in CAPS, obv, but the shout filter seems to have got to it.

it was. the bounce off his face, the little half twist all followed up by an exquiste finish.
we forget how lucky we were to have him.
