1. For your ears:

David Hepworth. A Fabulous Creation: How The LP Saved Our Lives.

Typcially insightful, reudite stuff from the muso's muso. Highly recommended.

2. For your eyes:

Andrew Miller. Now We Shall Be Entirely Free.

It's got Peninsular wars, it's got a bit of a road trip, it's got all the good stuff. One to remind you how much you love a good story. Go get it.

How do you find so much time to read? I manage about 10 pages an evening :-(

Yes. Hepworth's stuff is always good. I enjoyed that one more than the last.

Shame he's a lefty and a Tottenham fan, mind.

That's a worryingly inordinate amount of time spent tucking the kids up in bed

I'm not sure about the mechanics. Also, if they had blood in, wouldn't they be pinker?

Anyway, you know what Monty's lot are like. Clever sods. They've probably found a way round these issues.

I'm with you on this one, Monty. Even though my children are grown, the only time I would get to read is on the train and as I read the newspaper on the way in, then spend the day reading emails and documents of various types, the last thing I want to do on the way home is read a book, so I watch videos instead.

Maybe 15 minutes in bed before I fall asleep but it would have to be one hell of a book to keep me up at that point.

And let's face it, if your missus comes to bed and you're reading a book, you may as well hang a 'do not disturb' sign over your cock.

Do you use audiobooks?

I listen to podcasts in the gym or while running, and I have no commute as I wfh.

I've tried to listen to stuff while cooking, but I struggle to focus on both tasks.

5 mins in the bath then 25 mins of his wife trying to dry him while he runs around the house...

Yeah, my prime listening points are driving and cooking. I love zoning out while cooking and listening to hours of a good book.
But then cooking comes naturally to me, so distractions aren’t an issue.
