View Full Version : In other Corbyn news, he doesn't appear to know what an escalator is.

Maybe he meant those really long horizontal ones in airports that always has a family of West Africans with 16 suitcases blocking the way.

That's a travelator. You can tell an escalator because it...well...escalates. And you definitely can't get on and off it.

and, of course, a travelator just gets you to where you were going anyway. Just a little quicker.

To be fair, listening to Boris try to cobble together a cooking metaphor for his Brexit deal - "'Just shove it in the microwave, gas mark 5" - wasn't much better.

Yes, but that's Boris's schtick. It's carefully cultivated and it actually came off the top of his head, whereas this was presumably thought up by one of Corbyn's social media team and probably had to be signed off by half a dozen people before it saw the light of day.

'Unless he means travelator, which much like socialism doesn’t let you move upwards' wd Stepehn Canning :hehe:

Even then you can't get off until the end anyway. He'd have been better off with a tube train or a Routemaster.

Of course you can. Done it loads and loads. If you want the secret, try getting on at the bottom and getting off at the top. In between, you have to do remarkably little.
