I'm no constitutional expert, h, but I rather wonder whether he has overstepped his authority in his desperation to deny the electorate's wishes.

Oh I'm sure he has c :-) but I am puzzled why you would accuse him of such chicanery? The man is merely doing his legal duty of protecting the processes and procedures absolutely vital to the functioning of the mother of all parliaments.

This isn't some tin pot third world pygmy state c, where any old bloated tyrant can seize power and ignore the rule of law. This isn't Uganda, this is the United Kingdom

'Fraid not, C.

No parl can bind its successor so in constitutional terms, the 2017 GE would trump the 2016 Ref, even if that has been binding not advisory.

Therefore, if this parl don't like what Bercow has done, then can vote to change it.

The fact they haven't implies a Parl majority supports his decision.

As such, completely legal, constitutionally.

But this is a corrupt parliament which has conspired to disenfranchise the electorate. With whom,mi reiterate, I didn’t agree. But watching the nest of rats squirming, prepared to isn’t to any depths, to deny a democratic decision, is the most sickening display I have ever witnessed. And I lived through several socialist administrations.

If you claim to believe in democracy and yet can wrap yourself in knots to find a justification for us not hey having left the EU, then shame. Shame on you.

Rules is rules, C.

Our unwritten constitution is based on precedent.

Your side have the numbers for BJ's deal. Don't see how you can moan about parl choosing to debate it first instead of sticking to a day chosen at random by the French president. I thought you lot would like the fact that the Mother of Parls isn't dancing to a Froggie's tune.

I don’t have a side. I simply see the disgraceful extent to which the establishment is determined to ignore the will of the electorate.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we end up with civil unrest. Indeed, we should see civil unrest. This is a betrayal of democracy and, for some reason, people like you will twist yourself in knots to justify it.
