View Full Version : So, tonight
we kick-start Manchester United's season.
I'm backing a 3-1 defeat at 16/1.
Joke of a club. Emery out, etc, etc.

2/1 Arsenal pretty big with no Martial, Rashford and Pogba
Emery needs to pick the right line up so I’ll wait until the team news before I do anything.
My ideal line up is completely different to what Ubai might do.
Expecting same ol’ with Xhaka and Ozil fkin about.

What time's kick off? Is it on the telly?
I had a chat with Jurgen Klopp last week. He was lovely. I think I'll support Liverpool now. :YNWA:

I did some bets last week tc, you'd have been proud of me:
I had Liverpool to beat MK Dons by 8 goals. Put a tenner on that one.
Draw/Liverpool - tenner
MK Dons to win on pemalties - tenner.
30 quid downt he swanee. :-(

8pm KO and yes' it's on Sky
You do realise you'll be spending the rest of your life conducting various minute silences and being aggrieved about everything?

He smiled at me and flashed those huge marble slabs of teeth at me though. I, like, melted. Literally.
I actually got on the Liverpool team bus after the game by mistake. With a nice lad called Rhian. Everyone was shouting his name and everything.

We should be battering them but Emery will play four central midfielders and have us set up to counter attack a team who will be doing exactly the same. A draw is on the cards. Emery out.

OT: What are the odds on Charles Leclerc winning the 2020 F1 WDC? Ferrari have the better car at the moment, and Charlie's quicker than Seb.

‘Defenders’
Ahhhh but our consolation goal will be sensational
Finally beating De Gea who will, no doubt, have his best game of the season
‘Defenders’
It's a generic name for those of our players who stand in front of the goalkeeper, sc
Looking forward to seeing Tierney though

On the plus side, the new pub I am watching it in tonight is just round the corner from KFC. Gravy

Opposition players at a corner?
Opposition players at a corner?
the opposition - those who can actually get a corner beyond the first defender
Looking forward to seeing Tierney though
agreed.
Holding? And, didn't he do his knee at Old Trafford?

Yes he did, so possibly not the ideal place to return

Ooh nice. I'll think of you dipping your chips. As it were.

Do you have reason to believe the wee Jockie chap will play tonight, P?
Whilst I am still fully supportive of giving Emery the length of his contract to turn things around, I do find that - like Wenger - he tends to prefer what he already has, as it were.
I can think of no other reason for Xhaka still being in the team.

He wouldn't be playing Kolasinac or AMN if he had the Scotch or Bellerin available. FACT.*
* opinion.

The fact that he didn't play in the U23 game suggests he is line to feature at some point tonight, though granted that doesn't mean he starts (or he injured himself again against Forest...)

I believe them both to be available - is that not the case?
Yet the team projections I read in the news paper thingy said that AMN and Kola were expected to play. Which would be really sh1t imo.

Team projections in the paper :Hehe: :Hehe: :Hehe: :Hehe: Though in this case they might be right. Bellerin played 90 mins on Saturday so will defintely not feature in the starting line-up. Chambers may well have pushed himself in front of AMN though

Fair point, well made.
As you know, newspapers will hire virtually anyone who can write any old drivel. Many of them drunkards. ;-)

Line up
Leno
Maitland
Luiz
Sokratis
Kolasinac
Xhaka
Gwen
Ceballos
Ozil
Saka
Aboomerang
The ol’ 4-1-1-1-1-1-1 Arsene formation
Correct line up should be:
Leno
Chambers
Mustafi - to be fair...he’s better than the other 2 and keeping clean sheets
Holding (c)
Tierney
Gwen
Torreira
Pepe
Willock
Saka
Aboomerang

Arsenal drifting 9/4 now
The 5/4 draw no bet is tasty but depends on the line up
