View Full Version : It's just occurred to me that there's absolutely no 'away goals' benefit in winning

Yes but, it's a psychological blow, especially after Buzz Lightyear's rousing ramble in the press.
Two home defeats in the shiney new stadium. Sir Harry of Kane gnashing his teeth on the bench. It's early days an all, but things have to be looking up at this point ?

Of course, there's not. But we footie-folk are a touchingly superstitious lot #homeadvantage

The stats probably back that up too, in fairness. Sadly, however, Spurs are sweating, but they're not bleeding.

They will score goals away and whoever they play in the final there will be moments - even if fleeting - where they look capable of winning. That's the f*cking reality we are facing here, so don't bother trying to jazz it up you prick.

Can he gnash his teeth with that mandibular arrangement? I doubt it.

Sort of. There is no away goals advantage to winning away by any score if the home team don’t score. Which seems sort of bizarre but happens to be true. You need to think about it, Monty, what with you being an artsy and all.

Whilst this is true, watching Ajax was lovely.

A team full of youth, directness, skill and workrate. Everything The Arsenal isn't :-(

The post hitting ****s

They have an identity, see? A plan. They know how the club traditionally expresses its values on the pitch, so it's easy for them to embrace those values.

Like The Arsenal used to be until recently :-(

I loved watching the little fellas. Kept doing the simple things well, helping each other out and occasionally doing something very pretty indeed.

Mind you, I was sometimes screaming for them to just put their fúcking foot through the thing and clear their lines. :hehe:

I wonder what 'position' Frenkie de Jong is supposed to play? He appeared to be playing at left-back, sweeper, defensive midfield, right wing and no. 10 :hehe: #spiritofjohan

I hate Barcelona infinitely more than I hate any other big foreign club. I think it's the sort of hipster ****s who give it the old 'Mas que un club' shíte who really put me off.

Frenkie all the same. Wtf is that all about.

van de Beek also. Quite the footballer. The way he just stopped, read the paper, smoked a cigar, took 40 winks and then passed the ball into the bottom corner... :hehe:

Congratulations, Monty. You have finally worked out that playing the home leg first carries a small but significant advantage over being drawn away first.
