It was - not to put too fine a point on it - magnificent.

Some buttered bread to finish off the beans?

You can't beat a council dinner every now and again.
But that won could have been slightly betterered by adding a Birds Eye burger imo.

 My missus calls this "pikey tea".
It's bloody great, although your version seems to be missing the obligatory slab of cheap processed ham.

 There may even have been impromptu bean, chip and egg sandwiches.

The ones that, when cooked, shrink to the size of a 50p piece? Hmmm.
I was thinking that it could have used a grillsteak? Do they even still do grillsteaks? They were quite, quite unwholesome, full of fat, mechanically recovered meat and had a bizarrely rubbery texture, but by god they tasted fantastic.

I've just looked them up. 4 FOR £2.50!
Imagine the sheer nastiness of the ingredients required for them to be that cheap! :eat:

My one concern, and it is a very real concern, is the singular nature of this 'egg'.
Please be kind enough to ensure me that you did not prepare yourself a mesal featuring one egg?

Oh, no. Rest assured that I am using 'egg' in the same plural sense as 'egg and chips' or 'ham, egg and chips'.

 To soak up some of the fat.
It's very much putting me in mind of Adrian Lewis in Slaughter's.

Oh, I couldn't have it that often. It would lose its dirty appeal.

I must admit, I was crying whilst driving listening to that one for the first time...
