as it's only Arsenal and it just a matter of time before we lost.

However the other way round and they' have gone mad.

Not that it would have changed anything anyway but still. a 2-1 game is a different story.

Same last year with the offside goal - funny that we give them a (very slightly) harder game at the Etihad than at home (or Wembley)

It was quite disappointing in the end. Mainly because we actually looked ok at 1-1. Even carried some sort of threat before halftime . Oh well.

High points:
Not losing by 5 or 6
Some of Torreria’s tackles
Scoring from a near post flick on at the corner :cloud9:

Low points:
Our defending
Emery’s coat
That Suarez chap looking decidedly lightweight and timid

I did think though as we were picking up a bit of momentum they would just go down the other end and score :-(
We'd be quite good if we could tighten up this defensive area a bit.

Guen and LT were both excellent, if only we had an additional midfielder, say a No.10 to provide that extra bit guile......

Starting to play well for a spell may have been a mistake. Like poking a big bear with a little stick.

Do you think Stan might be persuaded to inject a little bit of cash?

I saw Kronke Jnr saying that the medium term goal was to get Arsenal into a CL final and that he knows what needs to happen to make that a possibility. Clearly the answer to that is money since the footballers in our squad are simply not at that sort of level. The man is clearly not stupid and so I hope he does consider allowing Unai a bit more money to play with.

Xhaka was my MOTM.

Brilliant job to keep the score down and stop then running straight through us.

They had to constantly switch it wide to get any joy.

Hopefully we see Mavropanos and Jenkinson next up instead of Mustafi and Lichtsteiner.

Fair play to Unai...he really tried with Mustafi.

Think the odds of us being relegated is a lot less than us making the CL final under their crackpot stewardship.

He probably bought so when the Super League starts he can move us stateside.

Need to move on.

When we see the manager unleash Suarez with about 1 days training ahead of the German then we have to accept he is not in the plans and will be exiting the club this summer.

Do you think it's partly about proving that he's in charge? For him to come in and tell the two key first team players (Ramsey and JW) that the contracts that had been agreed were off the table & then also bench/drop Ozil completely suggests to me that it's as much a power thing than simply not rating these players.

No idea but would seem a little childish if so.

He was 100% correct in what he did to Wilshere and just as a matter of accuracy he did not withdraw any contract, he simply informed JW that he would not be in his immediate team plans and as such the player took the decision to move on. I now read he is banjaxed again and likely to miss the rest of the season.

The Ramsey decision was made by all parties at the club and was not just a decision of Emery.

Ozil a bit more of a conundrum but who knows what is happening behind the scenes. If for example the German has not bought into the Emery vision of play then the manager is correct in his course of action. The big issue with Ozil is his cost to the club. This is not an issue of Emery's making.

Better to let Ozil leave for a nominal fee/free so that another club takes on his wages, imho. Nobody is going to pay big bucks for him and then chuck him £350k a week.

There’s also his sciatica issues.

Supposedly suffered with it for his entire career but this has been his worse season.

Supposedly spent a weekend trapped on his sofa unable to move (don’t know if Monty can confirm this or not).

Point is...no ones touching him with this issue and his shenanigans in the summer with Germany.

Maybe Kronke might sort something where he goes and plays for Colorado Rapids.

Works for City with all of their sister clubs and gets him off our wage bill.
