Higuain appears to be in his early 40s.

Don’t worry la, we’ve got Ramsay and Ozil who can do the fancy stuff. Unai is sure to appreciate their talents and allow them to flourish.

I bet Emery's ideal player is James Milner.

Nice story the other day about "Hamez" being sent off by his old PE teacher.
Well, I thought it was nice anyway.

We have Iwobi, you imbecile. Have you seen how hard he works? Up & down, up & down for 90 mins. Wd Alex Iwobi.

This is one of the most depressing posts I've ever read on here. And I remember Dorset's posts. :-(

What has upset you about it, B? Do you not admire his industriousness?

'Industriousness' is a very useful trait, but if I just wanted to watch people running endlessly, I'd stare through the window of my local gym.

I hope you're not being racist, B. And he does kick the ball about a bit, among all the running. Sometimes he even does goals and assists. I like our #big17.

What do you make of the James links, r? His Dad has said that there are offers on the table on the back of the rumours... And we are the only real team with rumours around him.

Do you really need Unai to essssplaaain how important consistency is? He has told Ozil that he needs to have better consistencies and if not he is best advised to leave.
I think he makes himself abundantly clear to the players, which I like.

Well, if both Real Madrid and Bayern München have essentially decided he's an expensive luxury...
.. he's probably perfect for us :rubchin:

That was a misunderstanding. I was simply adjusting my surgical truss and people got the wrong idea.

Although, talking of all that sort of thing; did you see, Jimmy was at it again last night. We are going to miss him, you know. We're going to miss him terribly :-(

Did you see the guardian article saying we’re not allowed to call black players “big and strong” or “powerful” anymore?

Yes. He bowled far too short in the morning, though. Still impressive for a chap of 36 to put together 24 overs and take four for flumpence - even if it is against the Windies.
In other news: the decision to drop Broad is baffling. Curran is no strike bowler.

Are we allowed to call the big ones 'a beast'?

Agnew said that Broad isn't playing as he got absolutely bitten to shreds by bed bugs in the hotel, did he not?

If there were any more proof needed. There isn't. That you know the square-root of three-eighths of fúck all about football...
there it is...

Goodness, no. "A big unit" perhaps.

If Butler hadn't dropped Hetmyer, they'd have been all out last night. Was one hell of a spell from Jimmy

I'm not sure that's a reason not to play a test match, r.

Management said it wasn't the reason he was left out - still not a great decision. Would have gone with him in front of Rashid personally. Two spinners seems a luxury on this surface. This Hetymer looks like the sort who will be fun to watch batting with the tail. I did like the fact that he batted in a sun hat yesterday

How about Sir C's penchant to naming them after pieces of furniture. It was Papa Bouba "the Wardrobe" Diop I believe

I think it should also work for small players. So we could have had Santi 'The Occasional Table' Cazorla.
Or it could relate to ethnic origin, as in Mesut 'The Ottoman' Ozil.
Or sexual orientation, as in Thomas 'The Pouffe' Hitzlsperger
