It’s a thing called ‘flair’. As a club we used to value it. No longer under the Iberian Ray Reardon, though. He’s stamping all that sort of thing out, don’t you worry. :-(

I swore rather loudly when he cost us a great chance after Boomerang had closed down the keeper and the ball fell to him. Had he simply controlled it and looked up he had all sorts of options.

But no, a stupid first time flick went horribly wrong and the chance was lost. I’d like to think this is one of the reason that Unai is getting rid of the cund.

I like him though.

It’s often the most efficient way of directing the ball to a target which is behind you. It takes skill, courage and imagination, though, so lumpen proles don’t like it.

I’ve heard tell of such things, but under the dark lord they are an offence punishable by free transfer.
