Do these people seriously think the hire car companies are going to turn away all of that business because you're holding a UK driving license

Yep. It’s full of ifs buts and maybe’s, as usual. Look, perhaps we’re about to freefall towards a leper colony on the edge of the golden states of Europe. Carney isn’t holding back from full, doom monger mode, which, for the Governor of the BoE, I find astonishing...

Did I read it right that a mere £5.50 actually solves the potential 'problem'?

Typical remoaniac pandering to people's base instincts 'OMG my £500k flat in Suburbiton will only be worth £300k post-Brexit! People's Vote Now!'

Carney claims the entire housing market could collapse. There’s that word again, ‘could’

So, 'the poor' will be more likely to afford to buy a house and the Russians, Arabs and Chinesers will have a few million wiped off their property portfolio?

Big. Fúcking. Deal. imo

Whereas no doubt you believe Rees Mogg's ludicrous claim about the trillion bonus in 15 years  Best just to ignore all these experts though, hey. Not like what they are saying is actually happening in front of your eyes

Nah - you can rent it out for two weeks a year and make a fortune - that will pay most of your mortgage. Good choice, r

Nope. They all piss in the same pot, in terms of spinning their own agendas. Experts within the world of economics, I’d take with a pinch of salt.
The business community will ultimately be the ones to resolve these issues, both good and bad.

That will be the business community that on the whole thinks Brexit is a terrible idea? Certainly a no-deal brexit

And yet strangely, even today, we still keep reading stories like this from leading accountancy firms. Not stellar numbers but hardly a collapse.
I was always led to believe that the markets react, before sh*t happens.

Hardly current though . Q4 2017 ?
My link was at least, this week.
I don’t think anyone disputes the slow down. It’s just not yet in giant sink hole territory.
Long term, the UK will have a far more flexible economy than those hand tied by EU beauricracy and their legislation mountain.

Of course it’s going to be a bad idea in the short to medium term but life will go on and we won’t become some cloned EU mono culture.

In broad, albeit short terms, it's bound to throw up more problems than solutions but I can't buy into all of this daily pessimism being peddled. A neighbour of mine with a small engineering firm producing measuring equipment has an overseas order book going through the roof. Never been busier.

I also find it particularly ironic as the socialists and anti capitalist crowd are using luxury car companies like Jaguar to bolster their arguments. :-/
