I really am growing awfully fond of him. :hehe;

To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!

Winston would've struggled with twitter imo.

Did your chum have any actual evidence for this allegation or was it just the usual unfounded lefty bile?

Here in Essex you don't seem to need evidence to support allegations :(

I think she was just reeling off anything she could think of. She seems convinced that he will face a republican challlenge to run again.

Being me, I decided to talk about the areas where he really did seem to be doing a rather good job :)

Oh, that infuriates them! :hehe: Trump hatred is such an article of faith for your bog-standard lefty that their heads virtually explode if you even suggest taking a dispassionate view of him.

She'll be calling you an alt-right Trump fanboy now, p.

She's a recent convert to feminism so I think she is outraged that America HATES WOMEN so much that they were prepared to elect Trump just to avoid having a woman President. I did point out that perhaps it was a mistake to select arguably the most hated woman in America to run against him ..... didnt go down well.

Of course, Hilary has been implicated in a variety of murders herself......

Yes. They also don't like it when you suggest that expecting people to vote for a candidate because they have one set of genitals rather than another is pretty much exactly how sexism works.

She also didnt like my suggestion that a second term is almost inevitable as he is clearly doing the job people wanted him to do :)

Ok, I knew it would wind her up but I do also think its true. His support among republicans is still high and the tariff stuff and trade wars are going down very well in the rust belt, even if it is hasnt brought jobs as yet.

His overall ratings are a problem but then....well, he isnt like other PResidents.

Especially when polls showed that Sanders would have easily beaten Trump.

Here's the thing - the Dem crazies who have been foaming at the mouth about Trump for two years now would seemingly rather Trump was prez than a genuine 'progressive'. Stein is feverishly denounced as Russian puppet, as is any actually economically left-of-centre Dem candidate who emerges.

On one hand, I think there is a genuine chance that he wants a war with Iran (and/or Venezuela), and that this will happen at some point during his innings, but on the other I wouldn't be too surprised if this was bantz was be followed up with peace talks and saying how Rouhani is someone he can do business with.

He's far too much of a pragmatist to get involved in a war. Wars cost far too much money. So far though, it appears that his policy of telling stroppy dictators to fúck off or else, seems to make them pause for thought...

Well all the indications would seem to point to Iran getting a slap from someone at some point, but whether the US will put boots on the ground for that one seems doubtful.

Sanders would have been a far more interesting election. He certainly would have challenged Trump in the key states and his presence would have disrupted Trump's entire campaign against the political establishment.

Yes, he certainly understands that, but OTOH they also get the neo-cons and lib-hawks who have been screeching "Russia! Russia! Russia!" off his back for a few minutes. Every time he lobs a few dozen cruise missiles into empty buildings in Syria they all cheer and call him 'presidential'.

Maybe they could resurrect Saddam Hussain and send him in to attack Iran - like they did before.

I think Saudi are the next cab off the rank in that respect. Backed up by Israel, of course.

Saudi? They can't even defeat a bunch of blokes in bare feet in Yemen.

As I understand it, the Saudi military are now considered pretty damn handy.

Stein *did take money from the Russians, and her candidacy did diminish Hillary's vote. So there's that. Anyway there's no point really in talking about 2020, because the congresssional elections in November 18 will tell us a lot.

Democrats had dreams of winning Georgia and Sanders would have won about five votes in Georgia. Florida, now that's a different atter. Jewish socialist appeals to the retirees down there.

It's more the other way about nowadays; Saudi cash fronting IDF scores.

I think they've already received their slap and it's all over. Hence the increase in shouting.
